UWE uses Safe Assign software to detect plagiarism. This is an electronic text matching tool which identifies the similarity between assignment submissions and an extensive database of electronic resources and previously submitted work.
Your tutors may use this tool in a variety of ways. You may be required to:
- test drafts of your assignment through Safe Assign as a learning activity;
- submit your final assignment via Safe Assign so that your text is automatically scanned; or,
- be subject to random scanning of your work.
It is therefore in your interests to familiarise yourself with good practice.
