There are a number of tutorials and guides which show you how to search specific databases for journal articles. Go to any named database starting from the 'Databases: by subject' web page.
Any tutorials and guides can be found under "Guides" for the individual database.

These tutorials take you step by step through a live database search.
The database opens in the right-hand window with a guide @ the side on the left.
Once you have completed a step click on continue for the next page of instructions.
